How Labrador Responds to Farm Animals vs Golden Retriever Delights Internet

A viral video showing the difference between a farm dog who grew up around cows and a golden retriever just there for the vibes has left internet users in hysterics.

Kyra Egan, 30, shared the video on TikTok (@kyra_egan) highlighting the stark contrast between Mya the black Labrador who loves the cows, and Soma the golden retriever who would rather be anywhere else.

Mya, 10, was introduced to life on the farm as a puppy and she’s become a regular visitor to the cow barn. Indeed, Egan, from Omro, Wisconsin, told Newsweek that the cows love Mya just as much, and they even “consider her part of the herd.”

“Mya is very comfortable going in the pens by the cows,” Egan said. “She has been around most of the cows since they were born, so they are very used to her. Being licked by the cows and licking them back is a daily occurrence for her.”

Soma, however, is much happier around people. She was two when Egan met her husband, Ed, and then relocated from the city to the farm. It certainly shows that she didn’t grow up as a farm dog and came to it later, as she’s far more anxious around the cows.

“We joke that Soma’s purpose in life is to cuddle. She is a very loving and emotionally intelligent dog that prefers to be cuddled up with us or chasing a ball at home. She is still relatively anxious but has grown to be more comfortable,” Egan said. “I think the differences between the dogs is funny. It’s fun to see how their personalities are so different and how they have different interests, just like humans.”

The hilarious TikTok video has gone viral, with over 1.5 million views and 331,800 likes at the time of writing. The footage shows Mya licking the cows gently, while Soma wanders round the barn nervously.
